Google Display Advertising Guidelines


Static image ads can be formatted in .gif, .jpg and .png. Animated image ads can be formatted in .gif or Flash. Image ads should clearly and accurately reflect your site and emphasize unique benefits of your product or service.
Both types can be in the following sizes:
• 250 x 250 Square
• 200 x 200 Small Square
• 468 x 60 Banner
• 728 x 90 Leaderboard
• 300 x 250 Inline Rectangle
• 336 x 280 Large Rectangle
• 120 x 600 Skyscraper
• 160 x 600 Wide Skyscraper

• Google does not allow all word caps in their banner ads. Eg “FREE” in all caps won’t be allowed.
• Superlative terms like “Best”, “Greatest” is not allowed unless it is authorize or certified by third party.
• A call to action in the banner is required for better CTR. Eg “Buy Now”, “Save Now”, “Discount”, “Online”
• Google banner ads have to be less than 50KB in Size.
• All Flash ads must be published for Flash Player version 4-8.
• Animated ads are restricted to a maximum of 30 seconds (at a 15-20 fps frame rate), after which point they must remain static. These ads must also comply with the other animation policies.
• “Click” as a term is not allowed in the banner ads.
